Frequently Asked Questions

1

What do children receive through the program?

Children learn a range of lifesaving skills that will equip them with the knowledge and confidence to respond to an emergency situation. Each child will also go home with a First Aid “show bag” that will enable them to continue their learning outside of the classroom, as well as a certificate of completion signed by their teacher.

3

Who are the supporters of this program?

First Aid in Schools is an initiative of St John Ambulance and is supported by Drakes, Toyota Motor Corporation, Sarah Constructions, CMI Toyota, Bendigo Bank, the South Australian Department for Education and Child Development, and On The Run.

In addition, we hold a number of initiatives throughout the year including our annual golf day to raise funds for the First Aid in Schools program. Generous donations are also made by members of the public who request that funds be used specifically for this initiative.

5

How can I find out more about the program and what St John as a charity does for the South Australian community?

2

Is my school eligible?

All South Australian primary schools are eligible. However, we require a minimum of 50 students per booking.

4

What does my donation go towards?

100% of every dollar goes directly to our charitable activities. We provide First Aid in Schools free of charge to schools and students, therefore any donation greatly helps us continue to fund this lifesaving program.
